Cindy Schwenk

Cindy started her work at Elding in the summer of 2022 as a naturalist. She has a M.Sc. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and her life long passion for marine life and especially cetaceans brought her to Iceland. She cares greatly for our oceans health and likes to teach people all that she knows about cetaceans, seabirds and other organisms that all interact together to form a functioning ecosystem.

What I like about working as a guide at Elding is the way this work gives biologists, like me, a platform to speak about the benefits of healthy oceans and the need to protect our world’s cetaceans in a fun and educative way, to interested nature lovers. I also like that Elding is aware of their environmental impacts and tries to always do better and also helps to contribute to valuable science about cetaceans. And of course I love the work atmosphere, out on the sea with lovely colleagues and amazing marine wildlife! What more could you wish for?

Cindy speaks fluent English, German and Finnish.
