PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 10:00

Report from RIB : It was sunny today ! What a pleasure to go out when its like this. Wind from the east felt cold but not strong and the see was a bit choppy with a 1 meter swell so we had to zig-zag a bit to keep the passengers comfortable but still having fun in the waves. We first spotted a small pod of 2-4 harbour porpoises. We saw them maybe two times before they disappear in the waves. Then we found 2-3 minke whales. It was challenging to spot and we had to move all around seeing one there, one here. But we had a good sighting on one that was quite big. We patrolled a bit more around and found a pod of white-beaked dolphins jumping far away. We quickly went there but we saw them a few times more before they went out of our sight, probably busy feeding. We went back surfing on the waves.

PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 14:00

Report from RIB : The wind was turning during the day, going from east to south and beginning to turn west. The wind was picking up during the tour but it was still sunny, at least until the end. We went in an area were other boat found something nice just earlier and quickly found 2 humpback whales, the same that have been seen yesterday. They were very calm until 4 white-beaked dolphins came with quite a lot of energy and curiosity, jumping and coming very close of the humpbacks. The whales answered moving and rolling and slapping and chasing the dolphins, sweeping with there tail like if they wanted to hit the dolphins, that are way to fast for the whale. Amazing show. We stayed a long time observing that. The dolphins got tired of bullying the whales and left. The whales were much calmer after that. We went in another area and found another pair of humpback whales. They surfaced so close of us, one coming even under the boat ! We saw them go for a deep dive and we went back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: A cloudy and rocky morning and with very good visibility. Only 15 minutes after we left the harbour a minke whale showed up! It was travelling pretty fast and while we were trying to follow it big splashes could be seen at the distance. They were a pod of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins! Some of them were swimming a little further away and some of them were approaching to the boat and bow-rided with the waves that our boat was creating. We enjoyed their presence and will remmember them with our memories and our cameras. The tour was coming to an end but shortly after another minke whale showed up. Very nice tour in the bay of Faxaflói.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Icelandic weather really can change in a heartbeat, and how! I love it when the sky opened up like that and the sun greated all of us. At the beggining of the tour we saw something it looked curious. Unfortunately it was a dead finwhale that was very near of the harbour. Some passengers were asking about the reason of dead, so we explained some of the threats that cetaceans are facing and what can we do to protect these incredible species. Shortly after, we were delighted by 2 pods of 3-5 harbour porpoises each, that were swimming peacefully. Our smiles came to our face as we saw jumps at the distance, there were white-beaked dolphins performing an incredible jumping show! There were probably 6-9 individuals. Not longer then 20 minutes after that we had to change direction very suddenly because we heard of another surprise, 2 humpback whales! We reached the area in some minutes. They were very confortable around us and they were often within meters of the boat surfacing with loud blows. We got to see the two whales lifting their tail into the air at the same time. After such show we could return with big smiles on our faces and the sailing was really smooth with the wind. Amazing tour!
