Join us on Viðey island as the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER will be illuminated for the 13th time with a peaceful ceremony on 9 October 2019.
Complimentary bus transfer from Hlemmur Square to ferry terminal starts at 17:15 and runs until 19:00. The ferry to Viðey island is also complimentary and runs from 17:30 until 19:30 and again back after the ceremony is over, at 20:30. See event details for more information.
"The Imagine Peace Tower is a work of art conceived by the legendary artist, musician and peace advocate Yoko Ono as a beacon to world peace. The work is in the form of a wishing well from which a strong and tall tower of light emerges. The words ‘Imagine Peace’ are inscribed on the well in 24 world languages. The installation of the Imagine Peace Tower is a collaboration of Yoko Ono, Reykjavík City, Reykjavík Art Museum, Reykjavík City Museum and Reykjavík Energy."
