Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúla: The weather was beautiful, sunny and clear, but the wind was blowing a bit more than this morning. We sailed far out on the bay and were able to spot some minke whales! They were not very easy to follow, coming up to the surface only once or twice before deep diving. But we were able to get some good sightings none the less, a couple of them pretty close to the boat :)

Report from Elding: Again we were able to spot quite a few Minke whales this evening, as well as a group of white-beaked dolphins! We had to go out pretty far though, and on the way back to land we saw a Minke whale breaching. Some of our passengers were lucky enough to spot this, it is truly an amazing sight!!

Hafsúla: Today the whales have not been as easy to watch than the days before. But still we found an area far far out with about ten minke whales. The minke whales surfaced always in a distance around the boat. A few of them though came very close to the boat. Among them was a calf! Then we had a big surprise: one cute harbour porpoise aproached the boat and swam for a short while in front of the boat. Harbour porpoises usually don't do thay, they rather avoid the boats. But this one we could watch very well, even swimming under the water!

Elding: Some great weather this morning as we sailed out onto Faxaflói bay. We spotted quite a few Minke whales, and even had a few very close to the boat. A successful and relaxing trip.
