CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Today we started our tour with a very weak wind, and cloudy skies. We sailed out and started spotting the many seabirds of the bay, including many Atlantic puffins flapping around! In the beginning of the tour, the sea conditions were amazing to spot anything and any different movement, so we got to an area full of small flocks of birds, until we got to one of them that had an easter egg: nothing less than a humpback whale amongst them! We saw the very big dark back of it, and got an amazing view of a side lunge feed, woth the food very close to the surface! This was very unexpected, and this whale showed the long and white pectoral fin while ended its performance. Wow! After a while, the whale finished eating and now started to look for something down there. Going for deeper dives and spending over 5 minutes under the water, it was hard to keep on track of this one! But the wind was still weak so we could even hear the blow from a distance. After a while trying to keep on track of this individual, we decided to explore other areas, and there was even a minke whale passing by, very fast. We then started our journey back home and as started to rain, the passengers kept cozy inside the saloon with hot drinks on their hands.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Hafsúlan: Our afternoon started with great sea conditions and just a bit of wind as we sailed out to adventure! We searched for wildlife for over one hour before we had any luck... but the wait was worth it because soon we received the news that a humpback whale was sighted! We sailed full speed and once we arrived we were able to see multiple whales in the area! We had a incredible encounter with 2 humpback whales really close to the boat! We could see their white pectoral fins under the water as they resurfaced gently super close to us! They were probably feeding since there were a lot of birds in the area diving and we could see more blows at a distance! What an incredible trip!! We sailed back as it was already quite late and said goodbye to our beloved humpbacks.
