Under calm and sunny skies we encountered shy harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales surfacing close, and a number of humpback whales showing fluke dives, breaches, peduncle throws and even bubble-net feeding. With close encounters and lively behaviours throughout the bay, it was a truly memorable day at sea.

Tonight’s calm seas and clear skies treated us to faint northern lights that grew into a bright arch stretching over the bay. With shimmering rays dancing on the horizon, we enjoyed the display all the way back to harbour.
The bay was alive with wildlife as we spotted harbour porpoises, several pods of playful white-beaked dolphins, many minke whales and multiple humpback whales showing off with breaches, tail slaps and feeding displays. The calm seas and sunshine made for excellent conditions, with highlights including close encounters and spectacular surface activity.

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to CANCEL the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
Today we experienced a true variety of wildlife in Faxaflói, with sightings of harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, plenty of minke whales, and several active humpback whales showing breaches, spy-hops and pec-slaps. Calm seas and good visibility made for excellent encounters, with especially large numbers of porpoises in the evening. A wonderful day at sea with all four of our common species seen!

We were excited to set out as the forecast looked promising for the evening. We made ourselves comfortable with a hot drink and waited for the clouds to part, but sadly, no luck - and we ended up handing out complimentary tickets tickets to all!

The weather was great tonight, with almost no wind and calm seas. We had to wait patiently but after some time the northern lights appeared! A very broad band of bright lights appeared perfectly in the center of a gap in the clouds!

Today’s tours were blessed with calm seas, sunshine and plenty of wildlife. We saw playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, elusive harbour porpoises, curious minke whales and several magnificent humpback whales, with highlights including close fluke dives, rolling, and bubble-net feeding. An exciting and memorable day with all four of our common cetacean species on display.
Despite choppy seas, today brought sightings of harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales, and even a humpback whale. One of the tours had no luck and issued complimentary tickets, while others enjoyed busy feeding grounds with gannets diving overhead. The final departures were cancelled due to deteriorating weather.
In calm seas and sunshine we spotted all four common cetaceans: pods of harbour porpoises, playful white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales, and numerous humpback whales. Breaches, pec and tail slaps, peduncle throws, and even bubble feeding created spectacular shows throughout the day. Faxaflói bay was alive from morning until sunset.

Tours enjoyed everything from quiet logging to spectacular breaching, pec-slapping and bubble-net feeding, with seabirds diving overhead.

Highlights included fluke dives, breaches, spy-hops, and close encounters, with dolphins bow-riding and humpbacks showing cooperative feeding. A truly lively day in Faxaflói bay.
