Located in Reykjavík & Akureyri!

The following are details on our location in Reykjavík.

Right in the heart of Reykjavík you find Elding's headquarters, well positioned at the charming Old Harbour. It has become one of the city's liveliest quarters with its quirky little shops, galleries, restaurants and a range of adventures and activities at sea.

Our boats are conveniently located just a little further down the road from our main office. Boarding is through our stationary boat, Fífill, which also serves as a Visitor Center, Wildlife Exhibition, Café and Souvenir Shop. Make sure to stop by our office to check in and exchange your voucher for boarding ticket(s) and we will show you where to go.

Follow the red flags at the harbour to locate us!

How to get here:

Walking

Our ticket office is no more than 300m away from the nearest tourist information office in the city centre and only about 5-10 minutes walk from Harpa Concert Hall. We are well withing walking distance from most hotels in the 101 area and thus recommend walking as it is good for the planet a well as your health, plus it saves you money on the transfer!

Pick-up

If you need to be collected for your tour, then you can easily book a pickup from your hotel or nearest bus stop. Return transfer has an added fee per person and collection starts 45 min. prior to tour departure with drop off straight after the tour. We offer this service in the greater Reykjavík area - see our pickup locations for more details.

Public Transportation

Given our central location, bus connections are good. Lækjartorg station is only 600m from our ticket office with most buses stopping there quite frequently. Walking from Lækjartorg should not take more than 5-10 minutes, but you could also take bus n°14 which stops at Mýrargata, only 200m from us.

Cruise Ship

Many of our guests arrive by cruise ships and wonder how far away our location is - well, it depends. Smaller ships can usually dock next door at Miðbakki pier, although almost all cruise ships will dock at Skarfabakki pier where the official cruise terminal for Reykjavík is. From there it takes about 1 hr. walk, or 10 min. by car to reach our ticket office. Public transportation can be found nearby and we also offer pickup (additional fee) from right outside the terminal.

Driving

The Old Harbour can be accessed by car, but it is a compact sector with very limited visitor parking. Keep in mind that it is illegal to park on the street and next to our boats. Elding will not assume responsibility for any fees or parking fines caused by its passengers parking, so make sure to read the signs where you park carefully. Hot tip: over at the next harbour, there is a big gravel lot where you can park for free.

See the different paid-for parking options below:
