Queer Joy on the Water with Elding
Reykjavík Pride is once again bringing colour, community and celebration to the city this week, and at Elding, we are proud to be part of it.
Elding has been an official sponsor of Reykjavík Pride for many years, and our connection with the celebration has become an annual tradition. Tonight, we are once again taking to the water for our Queer Cruise, bringing together guests, friends and members of our team for an evening of Pride, community and good times out on Faxaflói bay.
A Pride tradition on the water
Reykjavík Pride is about celebrating diversity, visibility and the freedom to be yourself. We believe those values belong everywhere - including out at sea.
Our Queer Cruise has become one of our favourite events of the year. There is something particularly special about celebrating Pride surrounded by the Icelandic landscape, with Reykjavík behind us and Faxaflói bay stretching out around us.
Whether you are visiting Reykjavík for Pride, travelling with friends, part of the LGBTQ+ community or simply want to join in the celebrations, everyone is welcome aboard.
Building a more inclusive workplace
Our commitment to being an LGBTQ+ friendly company goes beyond Pride Week.
We are currently working towards LGBTQ+ certification with Samtökin ’78, Iceland’s national queer organisation. The certification process focuses on education, diversity and respect in the workplace, helping organisations create an environment where people can feel safe, respected and able to be themselves.
For us, this is an important next step in making sure that being welcoming and inclusive is not something we only talk about during Pride, but something that is reflected in our workplace and in the experiences we offer our guests throughout the year.
Our team comes from many different backgrounds, and we want everyone who steps aboard an Elding vessel to feel welcome, respected and comfortable being themselves.
