Eldey in Dry Dock

Recognise this little lady?

Our beloved Eldey is currently in dry dock for a well deserved overhaul. As part of our regular maintenance routine, a variety of improvements and repairs are being carried out to ensure she's in top shape for the season ahead.

A small hole caused by corrosion in a weld on the hull bottom is being repaired, and while she's out of the water, we're taking the opportunity to have the entire hull high pressure washed, stripped of old paint, and carefully inspected before applying a fresh new coat.

In addition, the gearbox is being serviced, the compass repaired, and a full round of painting and deep cleaning is underway both on deck and along the exterior. We're also making the final adjustments to the davit system for the MOB (man overboard) boats to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Specialists are inspecting the hull bottom, and the propellers and shafts will be replaced while the propeller heads are cleaned and repaired.

We expect to welcome Eldey back on the water in a couple of weeks - beautifully restored, shining, and ready for the winter! Over the colder months, we'll continue to make interior improvements as needed to keep her as comfortable and seaworthy as ever.

We can’t wait to see her back in the harbour soon!
