Report from Eldey: A great forecast for tonights tour! A high KP Index, which is a measure of activity of the northern lights, and only a thin layer of high clouds in the sky that still gave way to stars here and there. It was just barely half an hour after us leaving the harbour, the time we usually need to get into the dark and sheltered areas we aim for, when a green arch began to show, stretching from Akraness city to Mt. Esja.  First our cameras saw them, then our eyes. And to make it even more fantastic, we had the most incredible full moon tonight, shining in an awing dark orange. The lights began to brighten, became two arches and moved! All within the first hour! So so nice. Even after an hour we still had the lights coming an going, a night truly worth having gone out and made some magical memories.
