Report from Eldey and Hafsulan: Exciting departure tonight, with two full boats ! Almost no wind on this tour made for a relatively warm sailing, but we were unpleasantly surprised by an important cloud cover above the bay, while we were expecting a totally clear sky. But we know far too well that Icelandic weather can be unpredictable and changing. Nonetheless we kept looking up in the sky, we carefully checked any window in the cloud cover when we were seeing stars. When it was time we had to start head back and then a sparkle happened behind us. We got ephemerous green rays appearing above Esjan mountain ! The excitement skyrocketed within the boats, but unfortunately it faded away as quick as it appeared. On our way back we had to stop another time, as the northern lights appeared again behind us again ! This time they got brighter and stayed for few minutes, so hopefully everyone could have solid glimpses of northern lights and have a better grasps of how to capture on camera. Still, we could have hoped for more considering the forecast, as it didn't feel enough we offered all of our passengers complimentary tickets.
