NORTHERN LIGHT CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: Tonight, the conditions were not especially good with a low kp index of 1 and clouds covering most of the sky. The forecast was expecting a clear sky so we thought the sky would clear up and we are always hopeful that the solar activity will get stronger than expected. Right after we left the harbour, green lights were visible on our cameras but no really easy to appreciate with our eyes. There was a green arch that appeared, bright enough to be seen but it disappeared quickly. The clouds slowly left the sky leaving us with a beautiful sky. After less then an hour the northern lights started to really show themselves. Bright green rays started to appear towards the east, expanding in the sky until they formed a large band. After that it was just the whole show with the sky almost completely covered in green, arcs in movement, northern lights spiraling and dancing and even a corona above our heads. The lights were mostly green sometimes accompanied by purple. A wonderful night!
