Report from Eldey: We sailed out onto calm waters under some clouds speckled above us, promising conditions. As we headed out, we admired the bright stars above, and we had the first faint glimmers of the northern lights ahead. They started out quite dim, appearing and disappearing rather quickly, but growing stronger as time passed. Soon, a stable, static arch began forming right above us, stretching from the behind Esja on the coast out over the bay. We also saw some stronger rays dancing near the water on the horizon. Activity was sill picking up as we headed for the harbour, so we got to enjoy the lights all the way home.
