Report from Eldey: Tonight the kp index was on 4, the sky was suppose to mainly have high clouds with a bit of middle clouds. The sea was very calm and the wind was cold but not strong so in our overalls it was a pleasant night. When we started the tour we saw that many stars were visible and that the veil of high clouds was thin and there was almost no middle clouds so very nice conditions. The moon was quite bright and was glowing a halo, a circle of light all around it. A beautiful night but not any northern light during the first hour. Then we had a couple of minutes of a green arch toward north. We were happy to see the northern lights but we kept hoping to see more. Our patience was rewarded with a beautiful show of dancing and bright northern lights during more than half an hour. There was a green snake of northern lights undulating in the sky. Really beautiful. We were very pleased and went back home with many pictures and memories.
