Report from Eldey: The night held some chances of seeing auroras. We sheltered from any wave movement behind the wonderful island Viðey and waited for mother nature to show us the northern lights. Despite of having a not very desirable cloud forecast and a forecast of auroras of 2/9 to 3/9, and luckly the predictions were not met as few clouds were seen, and a sky covered with stars lit up before us. Soon after, we started to witness some activity. A faint arch of light appeared over the left end of the Eska mountain range, gradually getting stronger, making it possible to see them with our naked eyes. Different colours could be seen: green, red, violet. Two archs of northern ligh created two bridges on the sky. Some auroras borealis even danced during a while. A beautiful night to remember.
