NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: It was a beautiful calm evening, there was some fine rain as our passengers walked to the boat but once on our way the heavens opened and was got to see the stars and planets over head. We sailed first towards the island of Viðey to admire the Imagine peace Tower, Yoko Ono memorial to John Lennon, then found a nice quiet area to wait for the northern lights to appear. The clouds moved a lot, creating gaps one moment and overcast and fine rain the next. We waited patiently but no activity was present. We kept an eye on the Icelandic Magnetic Observatory website which showed very little to no activity. Even if it was a very clear, cloudless night it would be very unlikely we would have seen any northern lights during our tour. So we offered our passengers complimentary tickets and hope they would have better luck the next time they come.
