Report from Eldey and Elding: The sky was unbelievably clear tonight: we could see the polar star shining brightly, point out all the constellations, and we of course hoped we would also see some northern lights. We had to be patient, but we found two green bands of aurora close to mount Esja. The lights were faint at first, but our cameras picked up the green colour. At some point we started seeing the light-green band with our eyes as the activity grew stronger. Towards the end of our cruise, we saw the strongest lights: two clear light green bands moving slightly in the sky. Although we were very happy that everyone got to see the northern lights, we still offered complimentary tickets in case our passengers wanted to see stronger northern lights on another night.
