NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 2200

Report from Eldey and Elding: Before even setting off our passengers were arriving and admiring the northern lights. We then sailed out past the Imagine Peace Tower and beyond Lundey with the auroras always above us. They faded in and out a bit but we could always see them on our phones/ cameras. Every so often they would get brighter but none of this compared to the amazing show we had waiting for us at the end of our tour. Suddenly they appeared really bright above Reykjavik and started dancing everywhere. The sky was full of green and red (!) lights it was so beautiful!

The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are some of the most extraordinary natural phenomena on Earth. They occur when charged particles from the sun are carried by solar winds and collide with Earth’s magnetic field. These particles are drawn toward the magnetic poles, where they interact with gases in the atmosphere (mainly oxygen and nitrogen) producing light in various colours.
