Report from Eldey: With cozy christmas classics, hot chocolates, waffles and excellent company, we were very happy to set sail into the bay to hunt for northern lights. The kp-index was predicted to be 4 out of nine (high solar storm activity) and the auroral oval was right above Iceland tonight, so we hoped to find the green skylights to complete this beautiful christmas day. Unfortunately, the clouds masked most of the sky so we didn´t have much luck with seeing the auroras except for some very faint green hues behind mount Esja. Although this was disappointing, we had a great tour with happy families, couples, and friends, watching the Imagine Peace Tower and listening to stories about Icelandic christmas traditions. We still want to show our passengers the northern lights, so we invited everyone to come onboard with us another night with a complimentary ticket.
