NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: With completely clear skies and a light breeze, we sailed out excited to see if the northern lights would appear for us this evening. We sailed out via the city skyline and admired the view as we sailed off and away from the city lights. The moon created picturesque views of the mountain Esja. As we waited, we learned about how the northern lights form because of the sun and waited. We could even spot shooting stars periodically across the night sky. Although the evening provided us with the ideal conditions, no northern lights appeared for us this evening, and so we handed out complimentary tickets so that everyone could come out and try again with us.

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
