NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: With a kp index of 1, gaps in the skies, and stars shining through the gaps, we set out hoping the auroras will show themselves to us this evening. As we sailed out, we admired the views of the city skyline as we headed away from the lights. After learning a bit about what we need for Northern Lights and how they appear, we started to get a faint gap of green Northern lights over the mountain Esja. It was very faint but could be picked up through our cameras and so we waited and hoped that the aurora would get stronger. The aurora would grow a bit in strength and then fade away, mostly seen through our cameras. After admiring the stars and learning about the islands around us, unfortunately it was time to head back to port. Since the auroras gave us a faint showing, we handed out complimentary tickets so that everyone could come again for another chance to see the northern lights stronger.

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
