Report from Eldey: As I got to work I walked through a thick fog, which does not bode well for a northern lights cruise. I was still hopeful and also thought if we see lights through the fog, it could have a very cool effect. As we actually sailed out the fog lifted and we saw a fairly clear and starry sky. Just as we did we saw faint lights above us, and also some on our right. We did get to enjoy it for a bit but they eventually faded. We had a lovely evening with good chats and some shooting stars but sadly no northern lights. For this reason we handed out complimentary tickets, giving everyone the chance to come back.
