Report from Eldey: We went out in a snow storm, just that the wind was not really a storm but a nice breeze. The visibility was low at first but after a while it cleared up and we even got some nice gaps in the clouds through which we could see the stars. Unfortunately the Northern Lights did not show themselves this evening and so we offered complementary tickets to our guests to come out with us another time.

While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
