NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: Tonight we were expecting an activity on a Kp index 2-3 and very clear skies. Full of hope, we started leaving the harbour into the darkness and... Bingo! The Northern lights were waiting for us. There was a faint green arch in the sky already! Instead of disappearing, the arch turned greener and multiplied! Little by little, over the night, we got not only one arch, but about 5! They were taking the whole sky and we couldn't be happier. They kept changing, moving, dancing as we admired them in awe. They changed so much that the arches turned into a big tree and then even an hourglass! Then they started to fade a bit, just in time for everyone to get a hot drink inside as we headed back to the harbour with the auroras following behind

What a fun and magical night.

While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
