Report from Eldey: With a kp-index of three, we were hopeful to see some nice northern lights tonight. The evening was beautiful: it wasn´t too cold, there was not too much wind, and we could see some stars in gaps in the clouds. We hoped that the rest of the clouds would clear to reveal more of that starry sky and it thankfully did get less cloudy after a while of sailing. We saw a faint band of green light through our cameras, but with the naked eye we were unable to enjoy the wonder of the auroras. The clouds came and went, and towards the end of the tour we could see more green lights through our cameras, but unfortunately we didn´t get a better look at the lights with our own eyes, so we offered our passengers the opportunity to come with us on another night with complimentary tickets. The forecast for the next few days looks promising with almost completely clear skies and moderately high solar storm activity, so hopefully we will meet again to enjoy these lights together over the weekend.
