NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 2100

Report from Eldey: This evening we went out on our quest to see the aurora borealis. There was quite a lot of cloud coverage and a kp index of 2, which is considered low. However the apps were saying a 40% chance of seeing them which is fairly good! An hour had passed and still no gaps in the clouds but we saw an occasional green speck above Esja. Then, a gap in the clouds appeared. We could see Orion's Belt and then suddenly a bright arch of northern lights! The gap grew bigger and bigger and the lights grew brighter and brighter and even danced for us! In the end, it was a great evening and everyone came back with happy faces. Just goes to show you can't trust the Icelandic weather forecast!
