NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: The sky was incredibly clear tonight, and with a kp of 2 we were hopeful to see the northern lights. While we sailed away from the city lights into the darkness, we were first able to enjoy the bright stars and admire some constellations. We didn´t have to wait long until we spotted the first hints of auroral activity: there was a band of whitish-green lights above the mountains. Although we initially had to rely on our cameras to see the northern lights, the arch grew stronger and we were able to enjoy the northern lights with our eyes a few moments later. The lights came and went, so we always had to be on our toes to see when they would become stronger and when we would see them again. As a nice bonus, we could watch the moon´s reflection on the calm water of the bay and enjoy some bioluminescent 'glow-in-the-dark´ krill behind our boat as we sailed back to Reykjavík.
