NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: Only a thin layer of high clouds covered parts of the sky tonight, so we sailed into the bay with a view over most of the stars. With a predicted aurora activity of 4 on the kp-index, we were hopeful to see some auroras tonight. Early on in the tour we could see an area of green in our cameras and the northern lights eventually got a bit brighter so that we could see them without the help of our lens as well. After some time the lights faded, but towards the end of the tour they came back a bit stronger. Since the bursts of auroras only lasted a few second each time, we decided to give out complimentary tickets. However, around 11 o'clock, just as we were supposed to dock in Reykjavik, the northern lights got much brighter and we could enjoy them for a few wonderful moments. We waited a bit longer to see if they would return and then it was really time to head to the harbour.
