Report from Eldey: There was a kp-index of four tonight and the forecast predicted light low cloud cover - in theory really good conditions for northern lights. When we sailed away from the city however, the clouds were much more prominent than we expected. Although there may have been aurora activity around us, the clouds almost completely masked the sky so we were unable to see any stars, let alone northern lights. We stopped close to Viðey island to check out the Imagine Peace Tower while we listened to John Lennon´s Imagine. Although this striking blue light was very nice to see, we were really hoping to admire the green auroras tonight so we waited for gaps in the sky but we had no luck tonight. We therefore gave our passengers complimentary tickets for another chance to come see the lights in the next two years.
