Report from Eldey: Tonight low clouds were covering the sky when we left the harbour and we were hopeful to have a gap between those clouds allowing us to see stars and hunt the northern lights. The kp on 3 was encouraging so we went out in the sea, listening music, drinking chocolate with rhum outside well protected by warm clothes or our red overalls. Although it stayed cloudy, we saw two green bands: the northern lights were there. However, the lights were faint and mainly visible through our camera lens. The lights soon completely disappeared and we did not get a better chance to admire them during the rest of the trip. We gave complimentary tickets so that everyone will have the opportunity to see stronger northern light on a less cloudy day.
