Report from Eldey: The tour had only just startedwhen the city lights started making way for northern lights above mount Esja. The lights started out faint, but were visible to the eye and quickly became stronger. The auroras took form in an arch-shape during the first half of the tour, then faded for a few minutes, only to come back very strong all over the sky until the end! Everywhere above us the bright lights were dancing, taking on different shapes. We enjoyed this spectacle for a good amount of time, and couldn't believe our luck with today's show. Since the kp-index only showed up as 'low activety' on some forecasting apps, this night again goes to show that nature is always full of surprises. It was absolutely phenomenal to get to watch the magical northern lights for such a long time, and in perfect wind-still and cloudless conditions.
