Report from Eldey: What an evening we had today! The kp index of 4 looked very promising and we had a beautiful clear dark sky. Even before leaving the harbour we saw some lights, they were quite strong at 8 but then calmed down again before we left. As we sailed out, there was faint lights above Esja that we kept our eye on. These lights started growing stronger and stronger and would grow and calm during our night. There were were moments it got very strong and was dancing above us and there were even moments of pink! Even as we sailed back, we stopped again as they clearly didnt want us to go home. On the way back we still had aurora the entire way back only dulling when we got into harbour. An absolutely amazing aurora filled evening.
