Despite cancelling our Premium tours due to weather, we were able to go on the Classic tours today. In the morning, we encountered a minke whale before spotting a familiar humpback whale. The night started with glimpses of the stars in between the clouds. We waited and waited, and just when we were about to start our journey back, we began to see the northern lights in the sky above the clouds, growing stronger and stronger!
The night started out cloudy, but soon enough, the sky cleared up and we could start to see some constellations above us. Eventually, faint green northern lights grew stronger, dancing above us in shades of green and pink.
In the morning, we encountered a close minke whale and later spent time with a feeding humpback whale that treated us to a beautiful fluke dive. The afternoon found 2 pods of racing harbour porpoises, a minke whale and at between 3-9 of humpback whales (including Neila and Pep), showcasing pectoral and peduncle slaps!
