Tour at 17:00

The sea conditions were great for this tour. couldn't believe how much calmer the sea was from the earlier tours. Once again there was not many puffins on the Island but we saw a lot offshore. It wasn't long before we saw a large flock of feeding seabirds which is a really good sign to see whales as well and we were right. The whale surfaced at least 4 times under the birds but we were quite far away on the first couple. We waited and were rewarded by seeing the Minke Whale surface only 20 meters infront of the boat. Some passengers also spotted some Harbour Porpoises but they were soon to disappear once we stopped the boat. Not the best of tours but definitely the best of the day.

Sea was quite rough still on this tour which was being enjoyed by the seabirds and cetaceans (marine mammals). Again not so many Puffins on the Island but we were lucky to find a Minke Whale that surfaced many times but only a few times 50-60meters from our boat. There was lots of Harbour Porpoises around too which came really close to the boat, 10-20 meters. Harbour Porpoises were definitely the highlight of this tour.

Tour at 09:00

The sea condition was quite rough when we headed out to Faxaflói this morning (from Reykjavík) We stopped by Akurey but there were not many puffins at home. It took us a long time to find the whales. Than finally 2 pods of harbour porpoises crossed our path. The second pod surfaced very close to our boat, but only two times before disappearing. No luck with the bigger whales this time so we offered our passengers complimentary tickets.
