Report from Eldey: How great it was to be out on the water again after nearly a week of storms. The ocean was surprisingly calm considering how it must have been swelled up with the extreme wind gusts we had had, and although it was a freezing cold day, the sun was up on the horizon, the highest point it will reach this time of the year, and bathing all our surroundings in twilight colours or pink, purple and orange. Birds were plentyful today and the visibility not only stunningly beautiful but also perfect for spotting whales and dolphins. Nontheless, despite best efforts, covering different parts of the bay and using every last second of the time we had we did not succeed in finding our marine mammals today. A complimentary ticket was offered to every passenger and with this they may return for free on another tour with us, whether it being this holiday or maybe to come and explore Iceland in the summer, when it becomes a completely different country!

- Sabrina Voswinkel

Birds seen today include: great cormorant, common shag, black-headed gull, eider duck, black-backed gull.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
