We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. We predict some wind from the east and we could experience some swells.
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today we sailed out in quite strong wind that was blowing from the south west. It meant that the sailing out was okey but when we turned around out in the bay we got to feel the force of the wind and the cold for the rest of the tour. We kept warm in the complimentary overalls and searched the bay for cetaceans. A passenger spotted some fins coming up in front of us and it was a pod of 2-3 white-beaked dolphins. They came so close to the boat that it was hard to see them on the top deck. Unfortunately they only stayed around for a short while so we didn't get a good look at them. We continued searching and managed to see one pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises in some distance. Sadly no more observations were made during the tour so we sailed back into the wind and when we got back to harbour we gave out complimentary tickets valid for another whale watching tour. Hopefully with more luck next time. Tomorrow is looking really good weather-wise make sure to be onboard!
