CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We were in for a windy afternoon today, but that didn't stop us from sailing out of the harbour and searching for cetaceans! After passing Engey, we spotted a blow in the distance. It was a humpback whale! It was also our bay regular known as Banana. They were feeding just north of Engey and showing off their fluke many times for us. After staying for a while, we decided to continue our tour and search a little more around the islands. We saw plenty of birds but no other whales or dolphins so we sailed back to watch Banana for a little longer. We were treated to some very close encounters where Banana was less than 50 metres away from us! Incredible! Despite the brisk northerly wind, we ended our tour happy with plenty of hot chocolate.
