Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: After a successful morning tour we headed back out and searched in the same area where we had left the dolphins. We took a few circles there and just when we moved on, we saw a few leaping dolphins in a few hundred meters distance in front of us. After we had carefully approached them, we spent a good portion of the tour with these 6-7 white-beaked dolphins that had a calf amongst them. We watched them surfing the waves, leaping out of the water and bow-riding in front of another vessel. At times they also checked us out and swam all around us. In the end, we headed a bit further out to look if there was anything else to find before we headed back to the harbour. On our way back, we came across the dolphins again that very unexpectedly surfaced just 30-50 m away from us and were leaping next two us. Since we had a little of spare time, we spent a few more minutes with them. The coolest experience today, however, was to see the dolphins following us for a few more minutes towards Reykjavik - perfect end of the tour that made up for the crappy weather we had to endure.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We went out in the bay this morning, a little afraid that the nice conditions we enjoyed yesterday were going to change - and that's exactly what happened. We spent almost two hours battling against the wind and the rain. At some point nobody was outside anymore, morale was quickly going down amongst our passengers. But hey! That's exactly why we have one of the best captains ever! Almost from nowhere Gvendur just spotted (almost looked as if he had summoned them though) a pod of 6-7 white beaked dolphins. They switched between feeding and playing a little by riding the waves and checking us out. Such a wonderful way of starting the day!
