CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey : Today the weather was for Vikings. The swell was not extremely high but very short, making the boat move a lot, not the best for people prone to seasickness. It was raining a bit, horizontally because of the strong wind, with a few glimpses of sun. There was a beautiful rainbow in the beginning. We went out and looked in the same areas than yesterday hoping to find the same animals. It was hard to spot because of the white caps, the strong west wind and the rain, but our patience was rewarded with a blow. It was the same chill pair of humpback whales than yesterday. They came very close to the boat seemingly curious and stayed with us until we had to leave. Once, one of the humpback did a tail slap. The rest of the tome there were very calmly swimming around the boat. Wonderful beasts.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey : The conditions were much better this afternoon with the sun coming out. The wind was getting weaker so it was pleasant to be outside. The swell was still very present and we had a few passenger getting seasick. We went in the same area than previously and found a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins with calves that were swimming quite fast, probably feeding or teaching to the little ones how to feed. We continued and found a blow. We headed there and in the way we crossed from very very close a minke whale that surfaced right in front of us. We could see it a bit later further away, or maybe it was a second one impossible to say. We saw the humpback whale responsible for the previous blow, probably feeding, going for deep dives quite often. It was so nice in the sun with the whale on a side and with the smoke coming up from the volcano on the other side. We left crossed one more minke whale and another pod of white brakes dolphins. Really a good tour.
