CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: This morning the mountains were peering through whispy clouds and the harbour was very still. As we set sail though we quickly noticed there was some movement on board! We sailed into the Whalefjord where once again we were protected by the wind and swell. Here it was very calm and we were surrounded by gorgeous moutains and then spotted a blow! We found a whale in the whale fjord, namely a humpback whale! This individual was very calm and curious, taking its time between dives but also coming extremely close! It was a lovely encounter and when time was up we headed back to harbour.

Report from Eldey: This afternoon the sky had cleared up and we were now sailing out under glorious blue skies and sunshine. Again there was swell on the way out although it had dropped quite a bit, as did the wind. We sailed back to Hvalfjordur and quickly spotted our humpback whale friend again! In the distance we saw the humpback breach about 6 times and was pec-slapping as well. As we approached we saw roughly 10-15 harbour porpoises. These were feeding and swimming all around the bow of the boat. As we got further we got closer to the humpback whale. It had calmed down a bit and we got to see a few beautiful fluke dives! Eventually we did run out of time and had to head back to harbour, enjoying the sun on our faces during the whole time!
