Report from Eldey: Today was a bit of a rollercoaster, weather-wise. We set sail with high hopes, but the weather couldn’t make up its mind. One minute it was sunny, then it’d suddenly turn to hail, followed by a downpour. But hey, that’s Iceland for you, always keeping you on your toes! We cruised around Faxaflói Bay, scanning the horizon for any signs of the majestic creatures we hoped to see. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day for whales. Instead, we came across a couple of harbor porpoises, who were kind enough to give us a brief show before darting off again. Not quite the big splash we were hoping for, but they were still fun to spot. To make up for the quiet outing, we handed out complimentary tickets to everyone on board, giving them the chance to come back for another shot at seeing the whales. Fingers crossed for next time!

Report from Eldey: This afternoon's sailing trip was filled with excitement and unexpected wildlife encounters. After an hour of sailing, we had an incredible surprise—a minke whale! The whale surfaced incredibly close to our boat, offering passengers a fantastic view of its body as it surfaced intermittently. We stayed with the minke whale for a few minutes, watching in awe as it swam gracefully through the water before we decided to continue our journey further south. Not long after, one sharp-eyed passenger spotted several dorsal fins nearby—harbour porpoises! We observed them resurfacing a few times, though they soon disappeared into the ocean. As snow began to fall heavily, we made our way back to the harbour, with everyone on board feeling thrilled by the day's wildlife sightings. The perfect end to our adventure was a warm cup of hot cocoa, leaving our passengers content and happy after such a great trip.
