  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00, 13:00

All whale watching tours are on schedule today from Reykjavík! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Hafsulan:

The tour started out with a little rain, which stopped though out the tour. It didn't take us very long, before we found a humpback whale. It was logging at the water surface, breathing every now and then. After while we decided to leave it to itself, so it can rest. We sailed around the islands, to see if we could find something else, but ended up being back with the humpback, which was more awake this time. So we watched it taking breaths and fluke dives. As always, all good things must come to an end, so we had to head back to the harbor with a beautiful sunrise. :)

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsúla: Our afternoon adventure started with a safety drill done by the coast guard's helicopter, which we had the pleasure of watching very up-close how these people safe lives out in the ocean. A few minutes after that, a blow was seen nearby! It came from a humpback whale!! We were again very lucky to see this beautiful animal so close to shore. It did perfect fluke diver and we watched it from all angles! And so, after a while we decided to go around the islands to check for more wildlife. Unfortunately nothing else came up to say hi, so we decided to revisit the whale we saw before. It did more fluke dives and also a big stretch, so we could see how big it was! After this, we headed back home with a warm cup of hot chocolate on our hands and an even warmer heart. <3
