CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out from Reykjavik port straight towards the open waters. Right at the beginning of our tour we came across a pot of 6 white beaked dolphins. Really curious and playful individuals came really close to our boat filing as with exactment for the day ahead. After this lovely interaction we continued our way to find something bigger. It didn't took long until we spotted 2 minke whales feeding at the same area. We stayed with them for quite a while until we found our first blows and we set course to investigate. Indeed was not one but 2 humpback whales that were both of them feeding at the same area with one minke as well. We used all our time that was left with them admiring these beautiful creatures and we set course back to our port.

Report from Hafsúlan: We went out in perfect icelandic summer weather. 12°C, a slight breeze from the east and lots of liquid sunshine. It wasn't long until we spotted a blow right ahead of us! Once we got closer, we realised this was a lone humpback whale! We watched the whale surface many times, and at one point it even threw its tail flukes high into the air in an amazing display of power! While we were waiting for the humpback to surface, we spotted two minke whales going about their day. At that point, the wind had started to pick up, so we made our way back to the harbour very satisfied after this great tour!

Report from Eldey: Both winds and waves had picked up a bit as we sailed out again this afternoon. We spent some time searching until we spotted a distant blow. This blow belonged to a very shy humpback whale, which dove down for long times and moved at a high speed. While we were trying our best to keep track of this humpback, a Minke whale swifty swam by as well, passing right in front of our boat! We eventually gave up on the humpback and moved on to a distant splash, but once again we were unlucky as the whale it belonged to seemingly had disappeared. But then our luck turned around fast as towards Reykjavik we could see a humpback whale leaping out the water over and over! We set course towards this individual immediately and the whole way there it kept breaching, each time a little bit closer. Even when we reached the whale it still was beaching continuously, only takes brakes to perform pec slaps, sometimes lifting up both pectoral fins high up at the same time! As the whale eventually seemed to calm down, time ran out for us as well. We continued towards town, appreciating this spectacular encounter even more as it proved how we can never tell what to expect and tour can take the most unexpected, amazing turns!

Report from Eldey : We sailed out under sunny skies and wavy seas with direction towards the open waters. On our way we came across a pot of 5 white beaked dolphins that where happily cruising and jumping close to our boat filling as with excitement for the tour ahead. After a while that we encountered this beautiful creatures we continued our way to search for something bigger. It dint took a long until we spotted the first minke whale that surfaced few times close to our boat. After this interaction it took as long to find another sine of life but at the end we manage to spot a blow. It was a humpback whale that was feeding at the same area with a minke whale. To our surprise the minke whale was more friendly than the humpback whale and surfaced close to our boat couple of times. Thought due to the waves and the elusive behavior of the humpback whales this tour dint reached the standards of our company so we desisted to give complimentary tickets to our gests so we can have another chance to see them again on board and make them even happier.
