Tour at 13:00

After sailing for about 40 minutes we spotted a blow from a Minke Whale. We were able to see this Minke Whale very well and once it came up only about 5-10 meters away from the boat. After that we didn't see it again so we kept on searching. Very close to the area we were in we saw splashes from White-beaked Dolphins. We sailed straight to the area and before we knew it we were surrounded by Dolphins. They were everywhere all around us spread over big area. At one point we had probably up to 15-20 of them swimming behind us in the waves. Very nice sighting. Then on our way back to the harbour we spotted the Minke Whale again but only briefly.

The weather today was very good. The ash from the eruption reached Reykjavík today and we saw it very well while searching for the whales. While sailing out we saw splashes from White-beaked Dolphins and a blow from a Minke Whale but when we got closer to the area they had left. We then headed further out and eventually we spotted one Minke Whale but it disappeared quickly and we didn't spot it again. On our way back to the harbour we found a small pod but a nice one of Harbour Porpoises.
