Report from Hafsúlan: At first it seemed like our midnight sun tour was missing the sun part, but eventually the sun fought it's way through the clouds. Our first sighting of the evening was a pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises. They were showing up a few times close to the boat, before vanishing again. With the perfect sea conditions we had today it was easy to spot even those small cetaceans. We had to head much further out for the next encounter. While enjoying the beautiful sunset, all of a sudden some more fins were coming up at the surface. This time it was a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins, including some calves! Especially the little ones were extremely acrobatic and having a competition, as to who can jump higher. It was another amazing encounter with these beautiful animals. On the way back to the harbour we were enjoying some music while getting stunning views of the sparkling city lights from the sea and saw 2 more harbour porpoises surfacing just next to us. Another great night to be out in the bay.

Report from Eldey: The clouds had returned and we had some rain on this tour. Although we did have perfect sea conditions for whale watching, very calm sea and grey skies - that means no sun glare to make us squint! We sailed out to the areas where we had some success on our earlier tours, but unfortunately all the animals had moved on to some other spot and we were unable to find them this time. We did however find a pod of about 3-5 harbour porpoises, but since the encounter was so short we wanted to give our passengers the opportunity to come back on another for free!

Report from Hafsulán: The sun decided to be very kind to us on this tour and we soaked in every sun ray that we could. We saw a harbour porpoise on the way out and even a few remaining puffins. It took us a longer time to see anything, but when we did, it was quite the show... 9-14 white-beaked dolphins were in a very good mood and a juvenile animal jumping out definitely made our day. They were so relaxed and graceful. A very nice tour during a very nice sunny day.

Report from Eldey: The light rain of this morning was replaced by a warm sunny sky. The sea being as smooth than this morning, we had a really peaceful tour. We headed to the same area where we saw the whales this morning. Apparently they moved because we didn't find them there. Those animal come every summer in Iceland to feed, so they follow the food supplies and that makes them sometimes hard to find. We remained patient and finally find a pod of 6 white beaked dolphins. The pod was calmy swimming, surfacing a few times before went under the water a few minutes and reappear further. We didn´t want to pursue them so we left them alone to find another species. We saw a minke whale but it unfortunately appeared only one time. The passengers couldn't see that so we offered them complementary tickets giving them the opportunity to come back for free in the next two years.

Report from Hafsulan: Such a wonderful start of the day! It was pouring rain during the whole night but, some minutes before the tour started, it stopped raining to never start again. The sea was extremely calm and it looked beautiful, just like a mirror. There was no wind so we could enjoy the whole trip outside. Our hopes were high while we were exploring throughout the bay, specially when we saw a nice pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises really close to the harbour and right afterwards we even had the chance to spot some of the last puffins that are still in Iceland. After roughly one hour sailing, we had our first whale encountered. A super calm minke whale surfaced again and again around us, giving us a beautiful feeding show. Specially, having that calm sea, the sighting was really relaxing. We could enjoy this animal for a long time until we decided to try to spot something else. After a few minutes sailing, the luck was again with us and we found a basking shark! What a great tour!

Report from Eldey: The weather was very calm, it was overcast and we had some light, refreshing rain every now and then, and the sea conditions were perfectly flat. As we were sailing out we spotted our first cetaceans, a pod of about 3 harbour porpoises just beside our boat. As we continued our tour, we came across a fin at the surface and that’s when we realized we had this super cool basking shark right in front of us! We stayed with it for a while before going a bit further south, where we found a pod of about 6-8 white beaked dolphins, 2 minke whales and a small pod of about 3 harbour porpoises all feeding in the same area!! It was such an incredible tour and we enjoyed seeing all these magnificent animals!
