Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Conditions were perfect this afternoon. A really good weather plus great sea conditions were waiting for us in Faxafloi. We could see very far away, even some airplanes landing in Keflavik! As we were sailing we saw many interesting birds filling the bay and at some point 3-4 harbour porpoises surfaced just in the middle of a small flock of black-legged kittiwakes. As they were extremely fast we couldn't stay with them for a while. Unfortunately, we couldn't spot anymore cetaceans and we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers. Nonetheless, we enjoyed a great sailing experience around the bay.

Report from Eldey: Looks like spring is here, at least today. We started the day with sunny and warm weather, sailing through almost flat seas. After just only 20 min we saw some splashes under a flock of feeding birds. Few minutes later we found ourself surrounded by white-beaked dolphins!  First they seemed to be feeding but soon showed interest in us as they approach our boat and start swimming almost in arm-length distance. As we were focusing on the dolphins close to us, it took us a while to realize that dolphins were everywhere! It's hard to estimate exact numbers but for sure there were more than 50 animals! It was incredible! Later on we decided to take a look in the wider area, still seeing dolphins in distance. Beside an amazing rainbow we didn't seen more cetaceans but it was a pleasure to be on the water in such a nice day!

Birds seen during our trip: eider duck, redshank, northern fulmar, northern gannet, black-legged kittiwake, black-headed gull, black guillemot, great cormorant.

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today on a beautiful and sunny day. It is a bit cold but all our boats have inside and outside areas and to make the tour even more comfortable we provide warm overalls. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we do have seasickness tablets free of charge at the ticket office. Hope you will be able to join us today.
