CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 09:00
Report from Hafsúlan: The Icelandic winter weather gave us a taste of its phases this morning as we ventured into a rainy bay. We didn't have to travel far, as we spotted our first species right outside the harbour walls: a minke whale! The rain had cleared and the sun was peeking through the clouds, but this minke was quite quick and elusive, so we decided to travel a bit further. As we were nearing the islands, we passed by a small pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises! As we lost sight of the porpoises, a blow was spotted! And then, two blows! We arrived at Viðey to find a calm pair of humpback whales swimming side by side, whom we admired for some time before heading over to Engey. There, we found two more minke whales feeding and darting all around the place. We ended the tour with one final look at our humpback whale pair before making our way back to the harbour. What a fantastic start to the day!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Hafsulan: This morning's clouds and rain had been blown past by the fresh northeastern wind this afternoon. We were lucky enough to find the same 2 humpback whales hanging out in the same spot between the harbour and islands so we found them only a few minutes after leaving port. We stuck with them for a while, as they were frantically travelling back and forth. Eventually, we left them at easy and searched about for a bit. We spotted 2 minke whales but they were very elusive and only a few lucky passengers managed to get a glimpse. To end the tour, we spent a bit more time with the humpbacks until finally making our way back to harbour, happy with this afternoon's turnout!
