CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: As we left the harbour this morning the drizzle had stopped and a soft wind blew over calm seas. We had a nice morning out today with the clouds causing dramatic scenery over the bay´s mountains. Plenty northern gannets and puffins were out and about today but sadly we did not manage to get any glimpse of the whales this morning. For this reason we handed out complimentary tickets to all our passengers so they can get another chance on seeing Iceland´s incredible cetacean wildlife.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we set off hoping for some better luck than the morning. We passed a few flocks of feeding seabirds giving us some hope but no cetaceans popped up nearby. Then just as our patience was being pushed to the limit, in the distance we saw a big blow. It took a bit of time to get closer as the animal was only surfacing twice before diving. Finally, we got closer and it was 100% worth the wait. This humpback whale surfaced really close to us a few times, showing us the big white pectoral fins. As well as going for some lovely fluke dives. It was amazing, then we headed home really happy :)
