Tour at 17:00

Once we got to the whale area we spotted some minke whales, but they were difficult to follow as they were deep-diving for a long time. We continued to sail out and spotted a few more on the way but still not very well. Later on the tour we spotted a playful group of white-beaked dolphins. They were very active and came really close to the boat and seemed to enjoy themselves as they stayed with us for a long time. Some of the passengers were so excited to get closer to the dolphins and to take photos, that they almost fell overboard :-) It was a great end of a very pleasant and beautiful day at sea.

Hafsúla & Elding: Another fantastic tour: several very nice and slowly surfacing minke whales and a group of at least 10 to 15 white-beaked dolphins! We stayed with all the animals a long time and got many good opportunities to take nice pictures! On this tour we spotted a very interesting minke whale, which came up to the surface slowly with a pointed beak several time without diving in between. The crew was very excited as they had never seen this kind of behaviour before. And to make the tour perfect, we could smell the minke whales this time very often. Believe us, they don't smell very nice!

Tour at 9:00

It was beautiful out there in the bay, there was no wind and very good visibility. Therefore we soon spotted our first minke whale. It surfaced very slowly so could we spent a long and lovely time with it. We kept on searching and spotted a small group of harbour porpoises and later some white-beaked dolphins. At the end of the tour we watched our second minke whale. Something must have been going on there in Faxaflóibay because all the whales we spotted today were very slowly surfacing and weren't in a hurry at all! Well, this was very nice for us :-)
