CLASSIC WHALE TOUR I 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: although our day started with very chilly wind from the North, the sea conditions were great. We sailed far out, pointing out to the many seabirds around us, including the numerous Atlantic puffins close to the boat. After about 40 minutes, we spotted a blow in the distance and decided to check it out. Getting closer, we spotted another blow almost beside this one and we realised we had 2 humpback whales there! With diving patterns of about 4min underwater, they were going for deep dives without showing the fluke. But what impressed us was the fact that they were quite fast. They splitted and then popped up in a very different spot, each of them. A bit hard to track, but one of them even got closer to the boat and we could take a good look at its bumps on its rostrum. Around us, we also could spot 2 other different blows, but in a far distance, in addition to a glimpse of 1 minke whale not far from us. The sun started to shine as we got back to the harbour, and we enjoyed it satisfied with this chill morning.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Finally a bright sunny sky welcomed us in the bay during our afternoon tour. We sailed across the Icelandic waters in company of many seabirds. People were super happy to spot different couples of puffins swimming and flying all around us as soon as we left the harbour. After a while I spotted a blow very far in front of us and suddenly a breaching sequence from 1 humpback whale! We obviously got super excited and we wanted to go closer. As this whale was more than 1 km far, once we reached the place we couldn't see it anymore but we just moved into another area where we saw other 2 humpback whales, separated. We could admire their body and few fluke dives. All the passengers were amazed by the view of the animals and the beauty of the landscape. We ran out the time but everybody enjoyed that. And also we spot 1 harbor porpoise while we were heading back to the marine. Very nice tour!
